Disneyland Resort has released its 2026 schedule for the famous hand-pulled candy canes, and the first batch comes out Friday, November 27, at Candy Palace on Main Street, U.S.A. Disney California Adventure joins the next day at Trolley Treats on Buena Vista Street, with 20 total release dates across both parks running through Christmas Day.
The schedule surfaced on a sign posted inside Candy Palace, first shared by the Food at Disneyland Facebook page and reported Sunday morning by WDW News Today and Disney Food Blog. Like last year, the only way to get one is an in-person wristband, with no mobile order option and a strict limit of one cane per guest per day.
These are the 18-inch peppermint canes that Cast Members stretch, twist, and shape by hand in the shop window while guests press up against the glass to watch. They are one of the most sought-after holiday treats at the resort, and the quantities each day are very small.
I think this is the single hardest snack to get at Disneyland all year. If it is on your list, you need to plan your day around it, not squeeze it in after lunch.
Every Disneyland Park candy cane date for 2026
At Disneyland Park, the candy canes will be made at Candy Palace on Main Street, U.S.A. The first date is Friday, November 27, the day after Thanksgiving, followed by Monday, November 30, and Wednesday, December 2.
From there the park settles into a Monday and Wednesday rhythm, with releases on Monday, December 7, Wednesday, December 9, Monday, December 14, and Wednesday, December 16. The final stretch covers Tuesday, December 22, Thursday, December 24 (Christmas Eve), and Friday, December 25 (Christmas Day).
That is 10 dates in Disneyland Park. Notice that none of them fall on a Saturday or Sunday, which matters a lot if you are only visiting on a weekend.
Every Disney California Adventure candy cane date for 2026
Over at Disney California Adventure, the canes will be made at Trolley Treats on Buena Vista Street. The first two dates are Saturday, November 28, and Sunday, November 29, both on Thanksgiving weekend, followed by Tuesday, December 1.
California Adventure then runs on a Sunday and Tuesday pattern with Sunday, December 6, Tuesday, December 8, Sunday, December 13, and Tuesday, December 15. The last three dates are Sunday, December 20, Tuesday, December 22, and Thursday, December 24 (Christmas Eve).
That is another 10 dates, for 20 total across the resort. If your trip is weekend-only, California Adventure is your best shot, since every Sunday from late November through December 20 has a release there.
There is no Christmas Day release at Trolley Treats this year. If you are spending December 25 in the parks, Candy Palace is the only option.
The two days both parks make candy canes
Tuesday, December 22, and Thursday, December 24, are the only dates when both Candy Palace and Trolley Treats are making candy canes. On paper that doubles your odds, but in practice those are also two of the busiest days of the entire year at the resort.
If you have a Park Hopper ticket, I would still pick one shop and commit to it at opening. Trying to hop between parks for a second chance usually means getting to the second shop after the wristbands are long gone.
How the candy cane wristband system works this year
Disneyland is using wristbands again in 2026 and has not brought back any virtual queue or mobile waitlist. According to the posted terms, a wristband gives you the chance to purchase one candy cane, not a guaranteed cane for everyone who shows up.
You must buy in person, and the limit is one candy cane per guest per day. The sign also says a very limited number of canes will be available for each release date while supplies last, and no discounts apply, so Magic Key and Disney Visa savings are off the table here.
The sign also says no exchanges or refunds. Disney also notes the release dates and prices are subject to change without notice, so check with the shop when you arrive before you build your whole morning around a date.
The sign does not list a price for 2026. I will update this story if Disneyland posts one, but I would bring a card and not worry too much about it, because nobody standing in that line is turning back over a few dollars.
My strategy for actually getting a Disneyland candy cane
Go straight to the shop the moment you enter the park. Do not stop for photos at the Main Street tree or grab a coffee first, because the wristband line forms early and the supply is tiny.
Have every person in your group come with you. Since the limit is one per guest, each person who wants a cane needs to be there in person, and you cannot pick one up on behalf of someone still in the hotel room.
Pick your park based on your ticket and your calendar, not the other way around. If you hold a one-park ticket for Disneyland Park on a Saturday, you are simply out of luck this year, so it is better to know that now than to discover it at 8 a.m.
If you miss out, stick around the window anyway. Watching the Cast Members pull and shape the candy is free, and it is honestly one of the coziest things to do on Main Street during the holidays.
I have a whole list of other free things at Disneyland Resort if you need a backup plan.
Picking the best candy cane date for your trip
The Thanksgiving weekend dates will be packed. Friday, November 27, at Candy Palace and Saturday, November 28, at Trolley Treats line up with some of the highest crowds of the fall, so expect stiff competition for wristbands.
The early December weekdays are where I would aim. Monday, December 7, Wednesday, December 9, Tuesday, December 8, and Tuesday, December 15, all land before the Christmas break crowds arrive, and my Disneyland in December guide breaks down which weeks are calmest.
Christmas week is the toughest of all. December 22, 24, and 25 bring holiday-level crowds, so if you are visiting then, treat the candy cane as a bonus and build the rest of your day around the things you can actually control.
Tickets are also worth checking now. Disneyland bumped several one-day ticket tiers this month, and I covered what changed in my Disneyland ticket price increase story.
Trips over Thanksgiving are covered in my Disneyland in November guide.
Make it a full holiday day at the resort
A candy cane morning pairs nicely with the rest of the season. My breakdown of what’s included in Disneyland Holidays 2026 covers the parade, fireworks, decor, and the extras that cost more.
If your trip lines up with early December, look at the Candlelight Processional too. Holiday character meals at Goofy’s Kitchen and Storytellers Cafe also book up quickly, and I covered the holiday dining reservation details here.
And if the candy cane does not work out, there are plenty of other sweets worth the calories. My ranked list of the best Disneyland desserts will keep you busy until your next try.
