Last Updated on September 5, 2026
Hotel Early Theme Park Entry ended January 5, 2026. As of September 5, 2026, the on-property perk that matters is one complimentary Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction entry per guest per stay at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the Disneyland Hotel, or Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel. Good Neighbor and Harbor Boulevard hotels do not get that Comp LL hotel perk.
This hub is the practical answer for “what do Disney hotel guests get now?” It covers who qualifies, how to redeem Comp LL, Harbor Blvd vs on-property decisions, common mistakes, and where Genie+ naming fits after the July 24, 2024 rename.

Quick answer: hotel perks after Early Entry ended
Hotel rates are usually the biggest swing in a family budget — see the hotel table in Disneyland trip cost for a family of 4 (2026).
- Ended Jan 5, 2026: Hotel Early Theme Park Entry (the 30-minute early park window).
- Ended / closed Jan 5, 2026 where it applied: Pixar Place private DCA gate.
- Current on-property perk: one complimentary Lightning Lane Multi Pass entry per guest per stay (Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel, Pixar Place Hotel).
- Still not included for Good Neighbors: Comp LL hotel perk. Harbor Blvd hotels never had Early Entry and still do not get Comp LL.
- Naming: Genie+ became Lightning Lane Multi Pass on July 24, 2024.

Rename and perk change table (use this when old blogs still say Early Entry)
| Old / ended perk | What replaced it (as of Sep 5, 2026) | Who gets it |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel Early Theme Park Entry (30 min early park access) | Ended January 5, 2026. Morning strategy is standard rope drop for everyone. | Nobody. Do not plan around EE. |
| Pixar Place private DCA gate | Closed January 5, 2026. Pixar Place guests use Grand Californian DCA access with a room key where available. | On-property guests (route changed) |
| Genie+ | Renamed Lightning Lane Multi Pass on July 24, 2024 | Anyone who buys Multi Pass (plus Comp LL hotel credit for qualifying hotel guests) |
| (new hotel perk) | One complimentary Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction entry per guest per stay | Checked-in guests at Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel, or Pixar Place Hotel only |
Who qualifies for complimentary Lightning Lane Multi Pass
You qualify when you are a checked-in guest at one of the three on-property Disneyland Resort hotels:
- Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
- Disneyland Hotel
- Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel
The benefit is described across Disney travel coverage and our hotel guides as one complimentary Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction entry per guest per stay. That is not a free Multi Pass for every day of a long stay. Treat it as one Comp LL credit per person for the reservation, then buy additional Multi Pass days if you need them.
Who does not qualify
- Good Neighbor Hotels (including popular Harbor Boulevard properties)
- Off-site Anaheim hotels that are not one of the three Disney-owned resorts
- Day guests who are only visiting the parks without an on-property hotel stay

How to redeem the Comp Lightning Lane hotel perk
Disney can tweak app labels, so treat this as the practical checklist guests use, then verify in the Disneyland app and with hotel guest services on arrival.
- 1. Check in to your Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel, or Pixar Place reservation so the stay is active.
- 2. Link the hotel reservation in the Disneyland app under your My Plans / hotel stay details (same Disney account you use for tickets).
- 3. Enter the park with a valid ticket on a day you want to use the Comp LL credit.
- 4. Open Lightning Lane Multi Pass in the app and look for the complimentary / hotel benefit before you pay for a full Multi Pass day.
- 5. Book the return time for a high-wait eligible attraction. Save the credit for a headliner you care about, not the first low-wait ride you see.
- 6. If the benefit is missing, visit hotel guest services or a Lightning Lane / Guest Relations cast member with your room confirmation before buying a duplicate Multi Pass.
Flag / verify live: Exact in-app button text and whether Comp LL appears before or after park entry can change. Do not rely on screenshots from 2025 Early Entry content. Confirm for your stay dates in the official Disneyland app.

Harbor Boulevard vs on-property: who should stay where
| Decision factor | On-property (Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel, Pixar Place) | Harbor Blvd / Good Neighbor |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel Early Theme Park Entry | Ended Jan 5, 2026 | Never had it; still none |
| Complimentary Lightning Lane Multi Pass (1 entry per guest per stay) | Yes | No |
| Private / preferential DCA entrance | Grand Californian private gate still matters; Pixar private gate closed Jan 5, 2026 | Main Esplanade / Harbor walk |
| Walking distance to gates | Inside the resort bubble | Many Harbor Blvd hotels are 5 to 15 minutes on foot |
| Price vs perk trade-off | Higher nightly rate; Comp LL + immersion | Lower rate; buy Multi Pass yourself if you want Lightning Lane |
| Best when… | You will use Comp LL, want Disney theming, or need DCA hotel access | Budget, free breakfast, loyalty points, or you skip paid Lightning Lane |
Stay on-property if…
- You will actually redeem the Comp LL credit (families hitting Rise, Racers, or other long waits).
- You want Disney theming from room to park and easier midday returns.
- DCA hotel access matters (especially Grand Californian’s private entrance).
- You are comparing packages where Comp LL offsets part of the Mult Pass spend for your group size.
Stay on Harbor Blvd / Good Neighbor if…
- Budget, free breakfast, parking, or hotel loyalty points matter more than Comp LL.
- You are fine buying Multi Pass yourself on the days you need it (or skipping Lightning Lane).
- You want a 5 to 15 minute walk to the Esplanade and do not need Disney hotel immersion.
- You previously booked Disney hotels mainly for Early Entry. That perk is gone, so re-run the math.
Courtyard and other Good Neighbor reviews should be read with the Comp LL gap in mind, not an Early Entry gap. Example: Courtyard by Marriott Anaheim review.
Common mistakes after the Early Entry change
- Planning a 7:30 AM hotel-only entry when parks list 8:00 AM open. EE ended January 5, 2026.
- Assuming Harbor Blvd hotels “should” get Comp LL because they are close. They do not.
- Calling it Genie+ when buying or redeeming. Use Lightning Lane Multi Pass naming after the July 24, 2024 rename.
- Burning Comp LL on a low-wait attraction at 9 AM. Save it for a true bottleneck.
- Expecting Pixar Place’s old private DCA gate. That gate closed January 5, 2026.
- Thinking Comp LL = free Multi Pass every day. It is one complimentary entry per guest per stay, not an unlimited Multi Pass.

Check into your qualifying Disney hotel, make sure your hotel reservation is linked in the Disneyland app, then look for the complimentary Multi Pass / hotel Lightning Lane benefit when you enter the park and open Lightning Lane purchases. Exact button labels can change, so confirm with hotel guest services or Disney if you do not see the benefit. Do not invent a second purchase if the credit already applied.
Often yes. Early Entry is gone for Disney hotels too, so the morning gap is smaller than it used to be. Harbor Blvd still loses Comp LL and Disney theming, but wins on price, breakfast, and walking distance for many families. Choose on-property when you will actually use the Comp LL credit and hotel access advantages.
