A Core Memories Inside Out photo booth is on Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure, in the public walkway between Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff and Emotional Whirlwind. Guests have been using the machine since late August 2026, and it was still on the boardwalk on Tuesday, September 1.

This is a walk-up photo op inside a regular California Adventure ticket, not a new ride and not a character greeting. Disneyland.com has not listed the booth yet.

Pixar Pier has a Core Memories photo stop now

I am treating this as park news because the cabinet is sitting on a guest walkway, not because Disney mailed a press note. You can see it from the same stretch of boardwalk you already use for candy, the spinner, and Incredicoaster.

The unit is themed to Inside Out, with the film’s colored memory orbs built into the machine. It reads as a souvenir cabinet, the kind of self-serve booth you step into, pose, and leave with a print.

I would not budget Lightning Lane time for it. If you are looping Pixar Pier for Incredicoaster, Jessie’s Critter Carousel, and Emotional Whirlwind, this is a side stop, not a must-do.

That distinction matters on a crowded September day. Families keep asking whether Joy and Sadness got a new attraction, and the honest answer is no.

Where to find the booth on Pixar Pier

Pixar Pier is the boardwalk land wrapped around Paradise Bay at the back of Disney California Adventure. From Buena Vista Street you cut through Hollywood Land or Cars Land, then Paradise Gardens Park, until the Pixar Pier arch puts you on the water.

Once you are under that marquee, walk the loop until Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff is on one side and Emotional Whirlwind is on the other. The Core Memories booth sits in that gap, outside the candy shop and short of the spinner queue.

Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff is the Inside Out sweets location on that same stretch. If you can see the shop windows and the Emotional Whirlwind marquee, you are in the right neighborhood.

Pixar Pier is not a separate ticket. It is included with Disney California Adventure admission, the same way Cars Land and Avengers Campus are included.

What guests actually do at the machine

You walk up, you pose, and you leave with printed photostrips. That is a different product from a PhotoPass photographer who tags your ticket and sends digital files later.

The cabinet uses a touchscreen for themed borders. Guest photos this week show a mix of Pixar and Disney Channel looks, plus dated 2026 frames, which is decoration on a souvenir machine, not a land overlay.

I have not stood at that screen myself, so I will not write a menu as if I photographed every option. The reliable facts are the location, the Inside Out wrapping, and the fact that this is a print booth rather than a ride vehicle.

Official pages for Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind and Disney PhotoPass still omit Core Memories. That silence is typical for a short-term cabinet.

It does not mean the booth is a rumor.

If the screen is down, I would take a phone photo at the Emotional Whirlwind marquee and keep moving. A closed souvenir machine is not worth a cross-park detour.

Price, time, and why Lightning Lane does not apply

Disney has not published a price or a last-call time for the booth. Confirm both on the machine and with the nearest Cast Member.

I will not invent a dollar amount. A photostrip cabinet at this resort is almost always a paid souvenir, and I would treat it that way until the screen says otherwise.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass does not cover photo booths. The paid line product is for attractions, and the Inside Out attraction on this corner remains Emotional Whirlwind.

Emotional Whirlwind is the family spinner on the old Maliboomer footprint, facing Paradise Bay. It reopened in 2026 after a long wall period, and it is the ride you should still plan around if you have small kids in that land.

They do change how I would split a Park Hopper day. I would still put California Adventure in daylight if the other park is missing a headliner.

How I would fit it into a California Adventure day

I would do it after a snack at Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff or after stepping off Emotional Whirlwind, when I am already in that corner. Spending rope drop on a cabinet that might be moved overnight is a poor use of the first hour.

Incredicoaster remains the land’s big coaster, and Lamplight Lounge remains the sit-down restaurant by the pier entrance. Build your morning around those, then let the booth happen if the walkway is open.

A two-minute print job belongs with the other non-ride things to do I already keep on this site. It is a souvenir, not a toddler-day filler unless the line is short.

If you collect photostrips from Downtown Disney and Fantasyland Theatre, Pixar Pier is the new stop on that circuit. If you are watching every dollar, read the price on the screen first and walk if it feels like a luxury.

Joy and Sadness still greet on Pixar Promenade on days Disney staffs that meet. Do not confuse a character line with this cabinet.

One is a Cast Member interaction. The other is a machine.

I like the theming. I do not like sending readers across the park for a maybe.

Confirm it in person, then spend two minutes, then get back to the water.

Do not plan a 2026 trip around a temporary cabinet

Photo booths at the Disneyland Resort move. Other themed cabinets have appeared at Fantasyland Theatre and in Downtown Disney without becoming permanent map pins.

I treat Core Memories the same way until Disney prints it on an official list. The unit can leave as quickly as it arrived, with no app banner and no ticket-calendar change.
