Most Get Away Today reviews online read like marketing copy. Five stars, no cons, no comparison to other booking options, and an affiliate link every other paragraph. That is not useful if you are trying to make a real decision about where to book your Disneyland vacation.

I have been a Get Away Today partner for three years and a customer for longer. I have booked through them personally for a Disneyland trip that included an on-property hotel stay and a 2-Day Park Hopper. I recommend them in dozens of articles across Enchanted Insider. Is Get Away Today Legit?

Yes. Get Away Today has been in business since 1990, making it one of the longest-running Disney-affiliated travel companies still operating. They are an official Disney-affiliated travel agency, meaning Disney has vetted them as a wholesale ticket and package partner. Their offices are headquartered in Ogden, Utah, and they have a Better Business Bureau A+ rating with accreditation since 2004.

The “is Get Away Today legit” question comes up because the company is not a household name like Expedia or Costco Travel. The price difference between their packages and direct Disney booking can also seem too good to be true. It is not. They are a legitimate wholesale ticket reseller with a real customer service operation and 35-plus years of continuous business. Their authorization to sell Disneyland and Disney World tickets is verifiable through Disney’s official authorized ticket seller list.

What Get Away Today Actually Does

Get Away Today is a travel agency that specializes in Disney and Southern California theme park vacations. Their primary product is bundled vacation packages that include hotel stays and theme park tickets at a discounted rate compared to booking each separately.

Their core offerings:

Disneyland Resort packages: Hotel plus tickets, with hotel options ranging from budget Anaheim properties at $99 per night to the on-property Disney hotels at $500-plus per night. Tickets include all current Disneyland Resort ticket types including the 2026 Kids’ Summer Ticket offer for $50 per child per day.

Walt Disney World packages: Same model, with Florida resort hotels and Disney World tickets.

Universal Studios packages: Both Hollywood and Orlando, with Universal hotels and theme park tickets.

I booked a Disneyland trip through Get Away Today that included a hotel and a 2-Day Park Hopper for myself. The booking process was straightforward. I used their website to compare hotel options near the parks and selected one within walking distance. What Get Away Today Does Well

Price Matching and the Best Price Guarantee

If you find a cheaper price on the same hotel and ticket combination from another retailer, Get Away Today will match it and beat it. This is not a marketing slogan. I have used the policy myself once when I found a slightly cheaper rate on a Good Neighbor hotel through Booking.com. They beat the price by approximately $15 per night across a three-night stay.

Their price tracking also runs automatically after you book. If the price of your package drops between when you book and when you travel, they apply the lower rate and refund you the difference. I have not personally received a price-drop refund, but other Get Away Today customers I have spoken with confirm it happens. SheBuysTravel reports a similar refund experience in their own review.

The Layaway Plan

This is the single best reason to use Get Away Today over Disney direct or most other booking options.

For a $99 non-refundable fee paid up front, you can put a full Disneyland vacation package on layaway and pay it off in installments of any size on your schedule up until five days before your check-in date. Your initial payment must be at least $175 (which includes the $99 fee). After that, you make payments whenever you want and in whatever amount you choose.

The math: if your total vacation cost is $2,000, you can put down $175 to lock it in, then pay $50 a week for the next 40 weeks. Or $200 a month for the next 10 months. Or whatever schedule fits your budget. As long as you pay the full balance five days before check-in, you are fine.

The Layaway Plan is available for Disneyland Resort, San Diego, Carlsbad, and Universal Studios Hollywood destinations. It is not available for Walt Disney World or international destinations.

Disney does not offer anything comparable. Disney requires the full hotel deposit at booking and the balance 30 days before check-in. For families on a budget, the layaway plan turns a vacation that would otherwise require saving the full amount upfront into something they can pay for incrementally. This is the feature that makes the most difference to actual people planning trips.

Hotel Partner Perks

Get Away Today has long-running relationships with most of the Good Neighbor hotels around Disneyland. Many of these properties offer perks specifically to Get Away Today customers that are not available if you book through the hotel directly. Free breakfast, free parking, waived resort fees, and occasional room upgrades show up regularly.

The exact perks vary by hotel and by date. The Get Away Today website displays the current perks for each property when you are browsing, which is the right place to compare. The Clarion, Fairfield Inn Anaheim Resort, Best Western Plus Park Place Inn, and Camelot Inn and Suites are among the Get Away Today partner hotels that consistently offer meaningful extras.

Customer Service

The customer service operation is genuinely one of the strongest in the travel industry. Their phone line (1-855-GET-AWAY) is answered by real people based in Utah. Wait times are generally under five minutes. The agents are trained Disney specialists, not generalist travel bookers, which means they actually know the hotels they are selling and the parks you are going to.

The team takes annual “FAM” (familiarization) trips where staff personally visit and tour the properties they sell. That hands-on knowledge shows up in their recommendations. When I asked about the differences between two specific hotels on my booking call, the agent had actually stayed at both and could speak to differences in room quality, walking time to the parks, and breakfast offerings from personal experience.

Get Away Today has won Best of State for customer service multiple years running. The award is regional (Utah-based) but the recognition lines up with my own experience and with the consistent reviews from other long-term users.

Free Extras Worth Mentioning

Get Away Today bookings come with a packet of extras that have modest but real value. The coupon book includes restaurant discounts for Anaheim and Downtown Disney venues including Naples Ristorante and Pizzeria, Tortilla Jo’s (currently closed for redevelopment but historically included), House of Blues, and others. These typically save 10 percent or a fixed dollar amount per check.

The free lanyards (one per traveler) are handed out at hotel check-in and are useful for holding park tickets and pin trading. The vacation printables (packing lists, countdown calendars) are simple PDFs aimed mostly at families with young children.

None of these are reasons to book by themselves. But they add up to maybe $30 to $50 in actual savings on a typical trip, plus the lanyards if you would have bought them otherwise.

Peace of Mind Plan

For $75 per booking, the Peace of Mind Plan lets you change or cancel your reservation up to 72 hours before check-in without penalty (excluding airfare). This is travel insurance lite. It covers schedule changes, hotel switches, and full cancellation without the rebooking fees that would otherwise apply.

Worth it if you are booking far in advance and your plans might shift. Skip it if you are booking within 30 days of travel and your dates are locked in. I have purchased it twice and used it once when a work schedule change shifted my dates by two weeks. The change was processed in a single phone call with no fees beyond the $75 plan cost.

What Get Away Today Does Less Well

Honest reviews require honest cons. Here is what other Get Away Today reviews tend to skip.

Solo Travelers and Single-Night Stays

The Get Away Today package model is built around 2-night minimum stays with at least two tickets. Their best discounts unlock at these volumes. Solo travelers doing a single night with a 1-day ticket will often find competitive or slightly better pricing booking the hotel directly through Booking.com or Hotels.com and the ticket through Undercover Tourist or Disney direct.

If you are a single person going for a day, Get Away Today is not the value proposition it is for families.

The Cancellation Window

Without the Peace of Mind Plan, cancellation policies vary by hotel and are not always as flexible as booking directly through a hotel chain with a refundable rate. Some Good Neighbor hotels through Get Away Today are non-refundable past a certain date. No Disney World Layaway

The layaway plan is one of Get Away Today’s strongest features, but it only applies to California destinations. Walt Disney World bookings cannot be put on layaway. Phone-Heavy Service Model

Get Away Today’s customer service is excellent, but a lot of it requires picking up the phone. Self-service tools on their website are basic compared to Expedia or Disney’s own booking platforms. Airfare

Get Away Today does not bundle airfare into their Disneyland packages. They will help you book it separately as a courtesy, but the discounted pricing applies only to the hotel and ticket portion. For trips where airfare is the biggest single cost (most non-California travel to Anaheim), this means you still have to handle one of the largest line items yourself.

Limited International Reach

Get Away Today vs Costco Travel

Costco Travel has historically been the best-known alternative for discounted Disneyland packages. As of May 2026, Costco has no current Disneyland offerings, which removes them from the comparison entirely for the moment. Booking directly through Disneyland.com is the comparison most first-time visitors consider. Here is how it breaks down.

Hotel pricing: For Good Neighbor hotels, Get Away Today is almost always cheaper than booking the hotel directly and then buying Disney tickets separately. The package discount is real. For on-property Disney hotels (Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel, Pixar Place), Disney’s own booking site occasionally has better deals during promotional windows, but Get Away Today still typically matches or beats Disney direct.

Ticket pricing: Get Away Today’s tickets are sold at Disney’s authorized retailer wholesale rate. Adult Park Hopper tickets are typically $10 to $30 cheaper per ticket through Get Away Today than through Disney’s website. The savings compound across larger groups.

Disney Visa cardholder discounts: If you have a Disney Visa card, Disney occasionally offers cardholder-exclusive discounts that Get Away Today cannot match. Worth checking the Disney Visa offers page before you book either way.

How to Get the Best Deal on Get Away Today

Book during their major sale events. Get Away Today runs promotions regularly, including their annual Birthday Sale (typically in late summer), their Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, and dates around Disney’s own promotional announcements. Signing up for their email list catches these.
