Updated April 2026 — Everything you need to know about renting lockers at Disneyland Resort, including all five locations, current prices, sizes, what fits and what doesn’t, and the one place you can get a free locker.
Carrying a heavy backpack around Disneyland all day gets old fast. Between jackets for the morning chill, snacks, souvenirs you pick up throughout the day, and everything else families pack, bags get heavy. Disneyland has five locker locations across the resort — two inside the parks and three in the Esplanade area outside — and knowing where they are and which one to use can save you a lot of frustration.
Disneyland Locker Prices 2026
| Size | Price Per Day | What Fits | Available At |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $7 | ~1 backpack | All locations |
| Large | $10 | ~2 backpacks | All locations |
| Jumbo | $12-$15 | Carry-on sized luggage, large coolers | Esplanade locations only |
| Free | $0 (2-hour limit) | Small bags | Grizzly River Run, DCA only |
Your rental fee covers the entire day — you can open and close your locker as many times as you want from park open to park close. Lockers operate on a PIN code system, no physical key. Payment is by credit card or cash only — Apple Pay and Google Pay are not accepted.
All Five Locker Locations at Disneyland Resort
1. Disneyland Park — Main Street USA
Where: Near the Market House (Starbucks) on Main Street USA, on the right side as you walk toward Sleeping Beauty Castle
Sizes: Standard ($7) and Large ($10)
Hours: Park open to park close — not accessible overnight
Best choice if you’re spending the entire day in Disneyland Park or plan to finish your day there. Convenient central location — easy to pop back to throughout the day without going far out of your way.
2. Disney California Adventure — Buena Vista Street
Where: On Buena Vista Street near the Red Car Trolley Station and Mortimer’s Market, on the right side as you walk toward Carthay Circle
Sizes: Standard ($7) and Large ($10)
Hours: DCA park hours only — not accessible overnight
Use this location only if you’re spending your entire day in California Adventure. Important caveat: DCA closes earlier than Disneyland Park on many days. If you’re planning to park hop to Disneyland in the evening, do not store items here — you won’t be able to retrieve them after DCA closes.
3. Esplanade — Near Guest Services (Left of Disneyland Entrance)
Where: Guest Services building, to the left of the main Disneyland Park entrance
Sizes: Standard, Large, and Jumbo ($12-$15)
Hours: Accessible from the Esplanade — does not require park admission, but nothing can be stored overnight
One of the best all-around locker options. Accessible without a park ticket, ideal for storing items before entering either park. The Jumbo size here fits carry-on luggage and larger coolers — useful if you’re arriving with bags you can’t take into the parks.
4. Esplanade — Near DCA Entrance Restrooms
Where: To the left of the main entrance to Disney California Adventure, next to the restrooms
Sizes: Standard, Large, and Jumbo
Hours: Accessible from the Esplanade, no park admission required, no overnight storage
Good option if you’re entering through the DCA side of the Esplanade. Same advantages as the Guest Services location — accessible without a park ticket and includes Jumbo sizes.
5. Esplanade — Picnic Area (Near Mickey & Friends Tram)
Where: West side of the Esplanade near the Mickey & Friends parking structure tram loading area, next to the picnic tables
Sizes: Standard, Large, and Jumbo (largest selection of oversized lockers)
Hours: Accessible from the Esplanade, no park admission required, no overnight storage
The best location for large items, carry-on luggage, or hard-sided coolers. Has the widest selection of Jumbo lockers. Also next to the picnic area — if you’re packing food from outside (outside food is not allowed in the parks but can be eaten at the picnic tables), store it here and come back at lunchtime. A good choice if you’re arriving via the Mickey & Friends parking structure.
Free Lockers at Disneyland — Grizzly River Run
There is one place at Disneyland Resort where you can get a locker completely free: Grizzly River Run in Disney California Adventure.
These lockers are located at the entrance to the Grizzly River Run queue and are designed for guests who want to keep their belongings dry while riding the water ride. Anyone can use them — you don’t have to be in the Grizzly River Run queue — but they have a 2-hour time limit and are smaller than the paid lockers. It’s important to know that many people using these lockers are using them for the water ride, Grizzly River Run.
These lockers fill up fast and there aren’t many available.
If you need a free locker in a pinch, this is your option. Just keep the 2-hour limit in mind and don’t plan to leave items there for the full day.
What Fits in a Disneyland Locker
A Standard locker fits roughly one full backpack. A Large locker fits roughly two full backpacks. Jumbo lockers (Esplanade only) fit carry-on sized luggage up to 24″ x 15″ x 18″.
Things that won’t fit in any standard park locker:
- Full-size strollers — even compact strollers are too large
- Large suitcases or full-size rolling luggage
- Disneyland balloons — too large and awkward, plan to carry them or tie to your stroller
- Galaxy’s Edge lightsabers from Savi’s Workshop — these are too long to fit in standard lockers
- Hard-sided coolers larger than 24″ x 15″ x 18″
For very large items, the Jumbo lockers in the Esplanade picnic area are your best bet. Any luggage going into a Jumbo locker must not exceed 24″ x 15″ x 18″ with or without wheels.
How to Rent a Disneyland Locker
Disneyland uses a self-service kiosk system at each locker location. Here’s how it works:
Walk up to the locker rental kiosk at any location and select your language. Choose your locker size and pay by credit card or cash — remember Apple Pay and Google Pay are not accepted so bring a physical card or cash. The kiosk will assign you a locker and give you a PIN code. Use that PIN to open and close your locker as many times as you need throughout the day. Keep your PIN safe — if you lose it, visit Guest Services for assistance.
Lockers are first-come, first-served. On busy days — particularly summer weekends and holidays — lockers inside the parks can sell out. If you arrive and the park lockers are full, use the Esplanade locations outside the gates which typically have more availability.
Important Rules to Know
No overnight storage. All lockers close when the parks close. You cannot leave items in a locker overnight under any circumstances. If you forget items in your locker after park close, contact Disneyland Lost and Found — Cast Members may be able to assist if you catch it quickly before leaving the property.
DCA lockers close when DCA closes — not when Disneyland closes. This is the most common mistake guests make. If you store items in the DCA Buena Vista Street locker and then park hop to Disneyland for the evening, you may not be able to retrieve your items if DCA has closed. Always use an Esplanade locker if you’re park hopping.
Everything goes through security first. All locker locations are past the security checkpoint. Anything you bring to store in a locker will be searched by security before you can put it away. Factor this into your arrival time.
Lockers can sell out on busy days. If the inside-park lockers are full, the Esplanade locations almost always have availability — they’re larger and less frequently used.
Which Locker Location Should You Use?
If you’re spending the whole day in Disneyland Park only: use the Main Street USA locker. Central location, convenient all day.
If you’re spending the whole day in DCA only: use the Buena Vista Street locker, but make sure to retrieve your items before DCA closes.
If you’re park hopping: always use an Esplanade locker — near Guest Services or the picnic area. These are accessible regardless of which park you’re in and don’t depend on individual park hours.
If you have large luggage or a cooler: go straight to the Esplanade picnic area location for the Jumbo lockers.
If you need a free locker for 2 hours or less: use the Grizzly River Run lockers in DCA.
If you’re arriving early for rope drop and want to drop bags before entering the park: use an Esplanade locker — you don’t need park admission to access them and you can head straight to the gates once you’re ready.
