Updated April 2026 — Every show, parade, and nighttime spectacular at Disneyland Resort in 2026, ranked and explained, with viewing tips and what’s only available through August 9.
Disneyland’s shows are some of the best live entertainment in any theme park in the world. Fantasmic alone has been running for over 30 years because nothing else comes close to matching it, personally. But in 2026 the entertainment lineup is particularly strong — the 70th Anniversary Celebration has brought back fan-favorite shows and parades that hadn’t run in years, and they’re all currently active through August 9, 2026.
Here’s every show worth seeing, ranked.
Disneyland Park Shows — Ranked
1. Fantasmic! — The Best Show at Disneyland Resort
Park: Disneyland Park | Location: Rivers of America, Frontierland | Duration: ~25 minutes | Year-round
Fantasmic is the undisputed best show at Disneyland and one of the best live shows at any theme park anywhere. Mickey Mouse dreams he’s the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, and the show unfolds as Disney villains try to corrupt his dream — culminating in a battle between good and evil on the Rivers of America with live actors, water screens, fire effects, projections, and a finale that gets everyone on their feet.
It runs on the Rivers of America in Frontierland with the river itself as the stage. The combination of water projection screens, live performers on a riverboat, fire, and the physical scale of the show creates something that genuinely can’t be replicated anywhere else. Even guests who have seen it many times come back every visit.
Typical showtimes: Two performances per night, usually around 9pm and 10:30pm. Check the Disneyland app for current showtimes — they vary by date and season.
Viewing tips: Spots along the Rivers of America fill up 45-60 minutes before showtime on busy nights. The Fantasmic Dining Package gives you reserved viewing in exchange for a qualifying meal at select restaurants — see our complete Fantasmic Dining Package guide for details. If you’re going standby, arrive 45 minutes early and position yourself in the center of the viewing area for the best sightlines to the water screens.
After the first show: Fireworks are scheduled on select nights immediately after the first Fantasmic performance. Stay in place at the Rivers of America to catch both back-to-back — one of the best entertainment combinations at the resort.
2. Wondrous Journeys Fireworks — Through August 9, 2026
Park: Disneyland Park | Location: Above Sleeping Beauty Castle | Duration: ~15 minutes | 70th Anniversary — ends August 9, 2026
The fireworks show returned as part of the Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration and it’s exceptional. Wondrous Journeys combines fireworks above the castle with projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle, It’s a Small World, and the surrounding park buildings — creating a synchronized spectacle across multiple park landmarks simultaneously.
This is the version of Disneyland fireworks that long-time fans have been waiting for. If you’re visiting before August 9, Wondrous Journeys is a non-negotiable must-see. It ends when the 70th Anniversary Celebration concludes on August 9, 2026, and what replaces it hasn’t been announced.
Viewing tips: The best views are from the Central Plaza in front of the castle, the hub area, or anywhere on Main Street with a clear sightline to the castle. The fireworks run on select nights — not every night. Check the Disneyland app the morning of your visit to confirm. Fireworks are also visible from the Rivers of America area after the first Fantasmic performance on nights when both are scheduled.
Note: Fire of the Rising Moons — a separate Galaxy’s Edge projection show — runs simultaneously in Star Wars land on fireworks nights as an alternative for guests already in that area of the park.
3. Paint the Night Parade — Through August 9, 2026
Park: Disneyland Park | Location: Main Street USA through Fantasyland | Duration: ~25 minutes | 70th Anniversary — ends August 9, 2026
Paint the Night is the best nighttime parade Disney has ever produced. Floats covered in LED lights representing modern Disney and Pixar films — Inside Out, Frozen, The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Cars, and more — move through the park to an original soundtrack that builds in energy as the parade progresses. The float for Brave and Merida is a particular fan favorite. The sheer brightness and scale in the dark makes it visually unlike anything else in the park.
It returned for the 70th Anniversary after years away and guests who remember its original run have been thrilled to see it back. If you’re visiting before August 9 this is a priority.
Viewing tips: Main Street packs in tight for the parade. The area near It’s a Small World is consistently less crowded and offers a longer viewing window as the parade approaches. Arrive 30 minutes early for a good standing spot. The Plaza Inn parade dining package includes reserved viewing — worth considering for families with young kids who can’t see over the crowd.
Typical showtimes: Usually two performances per night on parade nights. Check the Disneyland app for current schedule.
4. Magic Happens Parade — Year-Round
Park: Disneyland Park | Location: Main Street USA through Fantasyland | Duration: ~25 minutes | Year-round (daytime)
The daytime parade currently running at Disneyland Park. Magic Happens celebrates magical moments in Disney films — Moana, Coco, Sleeping Beauty, Fantasia, and more — with floats, dancers, and characters. The Moana float in particular is stunning and has become one of the most photographed parade moments at the park.
It’s a daytime show which means better visibility for photos and easier crowd management — particularly good for families with young children who won’t be awake for the nighttime entertainment. Usually runs once or twice in the afternoon. Check the Disneyland app for current showtimes.
Viewing tips: Same spots as Paint the Night — near It’s a Small World or in front of the castle hub for the best views with less crowd pressure than Main Street.
5. The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade — Through August 9, 2026
Park: Disneyland Park | Location: Main Street USA | Duration: ~10 minutes | 70th Anniversary — ends August 9, 2026
A shorter celebratory parade featuring Mickey, Minnie, and other characters in special 70th Anniversary costumes, accompanied by the Celebrate Happy musical theme from the anniversary celebration. Less elaborate than the full Magic Happens or Paint the Night parades but a fun and cheerful mid-day entertainment option. Runs multiple times per day. Easy to catch while walking between lands.
Disney California Adventure Shows — Ranked
1. World of Color Happiness! — Through August 9, 2026
Park: Disney California Adventure | Location: Paradise Bay, Paradise Gardens Park | Duration: ~25 minutes | Year-round (World of Color always runs — Happiness! version through August 9)
World of Color is the signature nighttime spectacular at Disney California Adventure. Over 1,200 fountains reaching up to 200 feet high create water screens across Paradise Bay, with Disney and Pixar film scenes projected onto them in synchronized color, music, and light. Standing in the mist zone during the show is one of the most immersive entertainment experiences at the resort.
The current version — World of Color Happiness! — was created specifically for the 70th Anniversary and runs through August 9, 2026. After that, World of Color will continue in a different version. The Happiness! edition is worth seeing specifically for its anniversary content.
Viewing: A virtual queue through the Disneyland app is required to access the reserved viewing area. Open the app as soon as you enter DCA and join the queue — it fills fast. Walk-up viewing at the Paradise Bay perimeter is available without the virtual queue but offers more distant sightlines. The World of Color Dessert Party includes reserved premium viewing — see our complete guide for details on whether it’s worth it.
Best viewing spot: Blue section of the virtual queue, center position. Arrive at the viewing area 20 minutes before showtime to get a good standing spot within your color section.
2. Tapestry of Happiness — Through August 9, 2026
Park: Disney California Adventure | Location: Buena Vista Street / Carthay Circle area | Duration: ~5 minutes | 70th Anniversary
A projection show on the Carthay Circle building that runs every 30 minutes in the evening. A shorter, more intimate entertainment moment than World of Color — beautiful projections celebrating Disney history and the 70th Anniversary on the iconic building facade. Worth pausing for if you’re near the front of the park in the evening hours. No reserved viewing required — just stop and watch.

If your visit falls before August 9, the entertainment lineup is as strong as it’s been in years. If you’re visiting after August 9, the shows that will replace these haven’t been announced yet — check the Disneyland app and the Disneyland events calendar closer to your visit for what’s current.
Show Viewing Tips — General
Check the app the morning of your visit. Show schedules are confirmed daily and can change due to weather, technical issues, or operational decisions. Don’t assume a show is running — verify it in the morning so you can plan your evening around confirmed showtimes.
Use the first show, not the last. The first performance of Fantasmic and World of Color is always less crowded than the final show. Guests staying until park close all converge on the last performance. First show gives you better crowd conditions and you can exit the park after without fighting the crowd.
Consider a Park Hopper if shows are a priority. On nights when Fantasmic runs at Disneyland and World of Color runs at DCA, a Park Hopper lets you see both in the same evening. Catch the first Fantasmic at 9pm, then hop to DCA for World of Color.
Dining packages for reserved viewing. Both Fantasmic and World of Color offer dining packages that include reserved viewing areas. If shows are a priority for your group — especially families with young children who need a guaranteed sightline — the dining package removes the stress of arriving early to stake out a spot. See our dedicated guides for each.
