Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante entrance sign with wrought iron and blue mosaic tile in Frontierland at Disneyland Park

Last Updated on September 3, 2026

Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante in Frontierland began serving an updated menu at Disneyland on Thursday, September 3, 2026. Disney shared the new lineup a day earlier through its Disney Eats channels, led by a Chicken Tostada Salad, a plate of nachos and a Mexican-style shrimp cocktail.

Two familiar items came back in the same update, the plant-based Duo of Cauliflower Tacos and the Fresas Con Crema dessert. Disney also added two slushies to the drink menu, one Jamaica and one Horchata.

What Disney Added to the Rancho del Zocalo Menu

The Chicken Tostada Salad is the addition I expect to sell fastest. Disney describes it as chicken with pico de gallo, sour cream, rice, beans, cotija, guacamole and a lime cilantro-avocado dressing.

If that sounds familiar, you are not imagining it. Several park outlets described the tostada salad as a guest favorite returning to the lineup, while Disney’s own list marks it as new, so treat it as a dish coming back in a refreshed form.

Nachos are the second addition, and they are more built out than the usual chips and cheese. The plate comes with tortilla chips, beans, guajillo cheese sauce, house-made and tomatillo salsas, red jalapenos, sour cream and guacamole.

That is a shareable order for a family, which matters at a restaurant where entree plates run large. Two adults and a child can make a nacho plate work as an afternoon stop instead of a full meal.

The Mexican-style Shrimp Cocktail is the most unusual thing on the new list. It is poached shrimp with tomatoes, red onions, cilantro, cucumber, celery and a spicy cocktail sauce, served with crackers.

Cold seafood is a rare sight on a Disneyland counter-service menu, especially in Frontierland. On a hot Anaheim afternoon it is also the smartest thing on this list.

Families get a new kids option too. The Kid’s Beef Taquitos plate is two taquitos filled with shredded beef, served with a Cuties mandarin orange, applesauce and a choice of small DASANI water or small lowfat milk.

The Two Returning Favorites

The Duo of Cauliflower Tacos is back, and it remains the plant-based entree here. Disney lists it as cauliflower al pastor in corn tortillas with house-made salsa, served with rice, beans and a lime wedge.

Plant-based options at Disneyland tend to rotate off menus quietly, so I always flag it when one returns. If you have been circling this park looking for a filling meatless plate that is not a salad, this is the Frontierland answer.

Fresas Con Crema also returns on the dessert side. It is strawberries with sweet cream, which is about as light as a Disneyland dessert gets.

That is a genuinely useful option in a park where the default sweet is a churro or a giant cookie. It also travels well if you are walking toward a Big Thunder Mountain Railroad return time.

Jamaica and Horchata Slushies Land on the Drink Menu

The drink change is small on paper and, in my opinion, the most fun part of this update. Rancho del Zocalo added a Jamaica Slushy and an Horchata Slushy, taking two of the aguas frescas people already order here and freezing them.

Jamaica is a tart hibiscus drink, and horchata is the sweeter rice and cinnamon one. Frozen versions of both are a much better bet than a hot cup of anything when Frontierland is baking in September.

Disney has not said whether these are permanent or seasonal. I would not assume they stick around past the fall, so try them on this trip if the idea appeals.

Where Rancho del Zocalo Is and When It Opens

Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante is the large counter-service Mexican spot in Frontierland at Disneyland Park, on the walkway that runs toward Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. It has shaded courtyard seating plus a big indoor dining room lined with star lanterns.

Disney lists the restaurant as open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Those hours track park operating hours, so confirm them in the Disneyland app the morning you go.

Because the posted opening time is 11 a.m., this is a lunch and dinner menu. Do not plan a rope drop breakfast around the new items.

Check the Disneyland app for mobile order availability before you walk over. When mobile order is live here it is the difference between eating in ten minutes and standing in a line that wraps toward the walkway.

What Disney Did Not Announce

Prices are the obvious gap. Disney published the item descriptions without costs, so I cannot tell you yet whether the shrimp cocktail lands closer to a snack price or an entree price.

There is also no word on anything leaving the menu to make room. Menu refreshes at Disneyland usually involve quiet removals, so longtime orders can disappear without a press note.

On the sourcing question, this one is straightforward. The item list came from Disney’s own Disney Eats channels rather than a construction photo or a cast member rumor, so it is confirmed rather than speculative.

How I Would Order Off the New Menu

If I am walking in with one person and a normal appetite, I am getting the Chicken Tostada Salad. It is the closest thing on this menu to a meal that does not leave you needing a nap on a bench in New Orleans Square.

With a group, I am ordering the nachos as a shared plate and adding an entree or two. That approach keeps a Frontierland stop from turning into the most expensive hour of the day, which is the same math I use in my under twenty dollars a day breakdown.

The shrimp cocktail is my pick for a late afternoon in September, eaten in the shade with a Jamaica Slushy. That is not a full dinner, and it is not trying to be.

For kids, the new taquito plate is a safer sell than a taco platter with rice and beans. The fruit cup and applesauce also mean you are not hunting for a produce stand thirty minutes later.

If none of this lands for your group, Frontierland is not your only option. My best food at Disneyland guide and the secret menu list cover the orders I keep coming back for, and the Plaza Inn guide is the Main Street alternative.

What This Means for a September Disneyland Trip

September is a good month to eat your way through Frontierland. Crowds soften midweek after the summer, and a new menu at a restaurant this size gives you a real reason to sit down instead of eating a pretzel while walking.

Pair this with the ride list before you build a day. Several attractions are down for work this month, and I keep that running in the September 2026 closures roundup.

Magic Key holders should also check blockout dates before planning a food-focused visit. I keep those explained in the blockout dates breakdown.

One last practical note on counter service. Tipping expectations are different at a place like this than at a sit-down restaurant, which I walk through in my Disneyland tipping guide.

I will update this page once prices post and once I have eaten my way through the new list. For now the headline is simple, Rancho del Zocalo has a new menu at Disneyland as of September 3, 2026, and the nachos and slushies are the additions guests will notice first.
