Updated April 29, 2026. Star Wars Nite April 30th is tomorrow. May 4th and May 6th are still ahead. Here is the complete survival guide — what to do from 6pm to 1am, which characters to triage first, the mobile order timing hack, the new novelty items, and how to structure every hour of the event.
Star Wars Nite is the most popular Disneyland After Dark event of the year for a reason. The combination of exclusive characters rarely seen anywhere else in the park, the Cantina Band performing live on the Rivers of America, the March of the First Order through Tomorrowland, and Galaxy’s Edge at night with significantly shorter lines produces an experience that regular park days simply cannot replicate. But it is four hours of event time after a six-hour mix-in period, and the guests who do it well are the ones who arrived with a plan.
This is that plan.

Both are limited to two per person with no discounts. The Jabba’s Sail Barge Bucket drops specifically on May 4th and will be available during the Star Wars Day event.

Here is the mistake most guests make: they wait until 9pm when the event officially starts and then find a line 30 minutes deep at the novelty cart. The Salvaged Protocol Droid Bucket and Bantha Sipper are available during the 6pm mix-in period before the party starts. Buy them during mix-in. Specifically, the best window is between 6pm and 7pm before the main crowd has fully streamed in and before the carts get hit by guests trying to accomplish everything at once at 9pm sharp.
The Jabba’s Sail Barge Bucket on May 4th is a different situation. That item releases specifically on May 4th and demand will be high from the moment the gates open. For the May 4th event, make this your first stop when you enter at 6pm. The popcorn cart near Star Trader is the primary location. Get in that line before you do anything else.
For all novelty items, use Mobile Order through Galactic Grill’s Seasonal Novelty Release to skip the physical line. This is available on the Disneyland app and lets you place the order ahead of time and pick up at the designated window. Set your mobile order for novelty items at 6:00 PM exactly when the park opens to your ticket.
The 6pm to 9pm Mix-In Strategy
Three hours of regular park access are included with your event ticket before the official event begins at 9pm. Most guests either waste this window standing in line at 9pm attraction queues, or underestimate it and arrive late. The mix-in is valuable. Here is how to use it.
6:00 PM to 6:30 PM — Novelties and Positioning
Enter the park and go directly to your novelty item priority. If you want the Salvaged Protocol Droid Bucket or Bantha Sipper, the Galactic Grill mobile order or the Star Trader cart popcorn area are your first moves. Get this done before the event crowd fully assembles.
6:30 PM to 8:00 PM — Food and Rides
This is your window for dinner and for any rides you want to experience before the event starts and the character queues build. The Felucian Garden Spread at Docking Bay 7 and the Ronto-less Garden Wrap at Ronto Roasters are both available during the mix-in period and neither requires you to be at the front of a novelty line. Mobile order your dinner at 6:30pm for a 7pm pickup and eat while the park is still in mix-in mode.
For the vegan and vegetarian guests: this is the exact window to eat at Ronto Roasters and Docking Bay 7. Both are fully open during the mix-in period. After 9pm when the party kicks in fully, those food lines will back up. Eat now, not during the best character meet windows of the event.
Star Tours, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance are all accessible during mix-in with normal standby waits. If Rise of the Resistance is a priority and you do not want to spend event time in queue, ride it between 7pm and 8:30pm when day guests are being cleared from the park and the queue transitions to event-only mode.
8:30 PM to 9:00 PM — Character Queue Positioning
This is the most critical 30-minute window of the entire event for guests who want the rarest character meets. Read the character triage section below before deciding where to be at 8:30pm.
Character Triage: Ranked by Expected Wait and Rarity
The full 2026 character lineup confirmed by Disney for Star Wars Nite includes: The Mandalorian and Grogu, Boba Fett, Emperor Palpatine, Fennec Shand, Queen Amidala, R2-D2, C-3PO, Hera and Chopper, Jawas, and Ewoks.
Not all of these draw the same queue. Here is how to prioritize.
Tier 1 — Go at 8:30 PM (Highest Demand):
Queen Amidala is the most in-demand character meet at Star Wars Nite and has been for every year the event has run. She is rare outside of this event, she photographs beautifully, and the line for her builds within the first 30 minutes of the event opening. If Queen Amidala is your priority — and for prequel fans she should be — position yourself near her meet location before 9pm. At 8:30pm, some queues begin forming even before the event officially opens. Find out her meet location from the event map distributed at the entrance or ask a Cast Member when you arrive. Being at that location at 8:45pm when the line is still short rather than 9:30pm when it has built to 90 minutes is the single highest-leverage move available for character meets.
The Mandalorian and Grogu are the second highest demand meet. The combination of Mando and Baby Yoda draws guests of all Star Wars affinity levels and the line moves slower than you expect because every guest wants an extended photo moment. Same advice: get there early in the first 30 minutes of the event.
Tier 2 — Target Between 9:30 PM and 10:30 PM:
Emperor Palpatine, Boba Fett, and Fennec Shand are significant gets but draw smaller lines than the Tier 1 meets. These are safe to target in the 9:30pm to 10:30pm window after you have already secured your Tier 1 priority. Boba Fett in particular is a fan-favorite that tends to generate enthusiastic interaction from cast and guests alike.
Hera and Chopper draw strong interest from Rebels fans and are rare enough that they are worth making a specific trip for if that series is important to you. They are not as universally demanded as Mando or Amidala and typically see shorter queues.
Tier 3 — Accessible Throughout the Night:
R2-D2, C-3PO, Jawas, and Ewoks are all wonderful meets and genuinely fun interactions, but they are accessible throughout the event and tend not to generate the acute queue pressure of the Tier 1 characters. Target these in the 10:30pm to midnight window when Tier 1 and 2 queues have thinned and you can move more freely through the park.
Entertainment: What to Prioritize and When
Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes (Cantina Band)
The Cantina Band performing live on the Rivers of America is the most purely joyful entertainment moment at Star Wars Nite. The combination of the familiar music echoing across the water in the dark, with the Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder visible behind the stage, produces one of those genuinely memorable theme park moments that photographs could never fully capture. Check your event guide map for performance times and find a spot along the Rivers of America bank 10 to 15 minutes before the scheduled performance. Standing along the railing gives you both the audio and the sightline you want.
March of the First Order Featuring Captain Phasma
The First Order marches through Tomorrowland at scheduled times during the event. This is worth watching once for the spectacle of it — Captain Phasma leading Stormtroopers through a dark park produces an atmosphere you do not get anywhere else. Check the event map for march times. Position yourself in Tomorrowland near the Space Mountain area for the best viewing. The march route passes through a confined corridor that creates a strong visual effect when you are standing close to it.
Fleet of Fandom Costume Showcase
If you came in costume, this is your moment. The Fleet of Fandom is a costume showcase on Main Street where guests in Star Wars costumes march down the parade route. Meet in Town Square 10 minutes before the scheduled showcase time. Participation is encouraged and the energy from the crowd watching is genuinely fun regardless of how elaborate your costume is. A well-assembled outfit of any kind is welcome — this is not a competition, it is a celebration.
Lightsaber Instructional
The lightsaber instructional is a fun interactive demonstration best suited for guests with younger children or anyone who wants a participatory experience rather than a passive one. It draws a crowd but moves through quickly. Check the event guide map for location and times.
Choose Your Path QR Code Experience
Throughout the event, QR codes are positioned around the park allowing you to vote for the light side or dark side of the Force. Votes are tallied hourly and announced by the Galactic DJ in the Hub. This is the lowest-time-commitment interactive element of the event — scan a code, cast your vote, move on. Worth doing once if you happen to pass a QR point, not worth going out of your way for.
The Mobile Order Timing Hack
The single most effective food logistics move at Star Wars Nite is placing mobile orders at the exact moment your window opens rather than waiting until you are hungry and the food lines have built.
For the Banth-gogi Bowl and Twin Saber Funnel Cake Fries — two of the Star Wars Nite exclusive food items — set your mobile order at 8:00 PM for an 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM pickup window. By 8pm you are in the park, you know what you want, and the ordering infrastructure is clear. When the party starts at 9pm and every guest simultaneously decides they want the exclusive food, the mobile order queue fills and estimated pickup times lengthen. Ordering at 8pm gets your food ready at the transition point when the event officially begins, before that order surge hits.
The same logic applies to any Galaxy’s Edge food you want during the event. Docking Bay 7, Ronto Roasters, and the Milk Stand are all accessible via mobile order. Set orders for Galaxy’s Edge food during the mix-in period so they are ready when you arrive in the land rather than placing them there and waiting in a lengthened queue during peak event hours.
Galaxy’s Edge at Night: The Best Hours
Galaxy’s Edge after dark during Star Wars Nite is the premium version of what is already the most immersive themed environment in any American theme park. The lighting is dramatic, the crowd is composed entirely of guests who are deeply into the experience, and the atmosphere in Batuu at 11pm is genuinely unlike anything else in the park.
The 2026 event has added significance at Galaxy’s Edge specifically. The April 28th event was the first night the expanded timeline characters — Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Darth Vader — appeared in Batuu. These characters are now a permanent addition to the land. For April 30th, May 4th, and May 6th attendees, these characters will be present and the land will carry the new timeline energy that only launched days earlier.
Target Galaxy’s Edge between 10:00 PM and midnight for the best combination of short waits and atmosphere. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Rise of the Resistance both run with significantly reduced waits during event hours. Rise of the Resistance during Star Wars Nite is one of the strongest pure value propositions of the event — the ride is unchanged but the wait drops from a typical 45 to 90 minutes to under 20 minutes in the later event hours.
Photo Opportunities Worth Finding
Three themed photo backdrops are confirmed for Star Wars Nite in addition to standard Galaxy’s Edge PhotoPass locations:
The Speeder Bike on Endor setup, where you pose on a speeder bike with the forest of Endor behind you, is one of the most striking photo setups available at any Disney after-dark event. Find this one early in the event when the line is shortest.
The Light Side and Dark Side allegiance banners, where you stand in front of the Rebel Alliance or First Order insignia. Simple but impactful if you are in costume.
The throne photo opportunity, where you sit in the most infamous throne in the galaxy. This one draws a line. Target it in the 11pm to midnight window when some guests have already moved toward the exits.
All photos are included in unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads with your event ticket. Scan the QR code on your event wristband into the Disneyland app to link your photos. Photos are available for download for 45 days after initial capture.
Hour-by-Hour Event Guide
6:00 PM — Enter the park. Go directly to your novelty priority. Mobile order novelty items via Galactic Grill’s Seasonal Novelty Release if you have not already. For May 4th, the Jabba’s Sail Barge Bucket is your first stop.
6:30 PM — Mobile order dinner. Order from Docking Bay 7 or Ronto Roasters for a 7pm pickup. For the Twin Saber Funnel Cake Fries or any exclusive event food, place that order now for a 7:30 to 8pm pickup window.
7:00 PM — Ride priority during mix-in. Use this window for Rise of the Resistance or Smugglers Run if those are on your list. Waits are manageable during mix-in before day guests have fully cleared.
7:30 PM — Pick up dinner. Eat while wandering. This is also a good time to explore Galaxy’s Edge without the full event-night crowd.
8:00 PM — Place mobile orders for exclusive event food. Set pickup windows for 8:30 to 9pm so food is ready as the event begins.
8:30 PM — Position for Tier 1 character priority. Get to Queen Amidala’s or The Mandalorian’s meet location before 9pm. Find the meet location on your event guide map distributed at entry or ask a Cast Member when you arrive.
9:00 PM — Event begins. Day guests clear out. Pick up your pre-ordered event food. The park is now at its most exclusive.
9:15 PM to 10:30 PM — Tier 1 and 2 character meets and first entertainment pass. Catch the first Cantina Band performance or March of the First Order depending on timing. Hit your Tier 2 character meets.
10:30 PM to midnight — Galaxy’s Edge and rides. This is the sweet spot for Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at their shortest waits. Galaxy’s Edge atmosphere at this hour is exceptional.
Midnight to 1:00 AM — Tier 3 characters and photo opportunities. The Throne photo op, Ewok and Jawa meets, and any remaining entertainment. The park thins in this final hour and you can move more freely than at any other point in the event.
What to Bring
Star Wars Nite runs from 6pm to 1am — seven hours in the park including mix-in. That is a long evening on your feet in what will be a warm late April or early May Anaheim night. The right bag and the right preparation make a meaningful difference by midnight.
A 20-liter daypack is ideal for the event. You need to carry your lightsaber if you bring one, water, a portable charger (you will use the Disneyland app heavily for mobile orders, character location maps, and photo management), and any layers for the late-night cool-down. The Enchanted Insider Disneyland Backpack Guide covers the specific bags that work best for this type of extended evening visit.
If you are driving to the event and parking at Mickey and Friends or Pixar Pals, note that the EV charging spots will have been occupied since morning by day guests. For late-night departure, your charge level will reflect whatever was left when you arrived unless you secured a charging spot. For the full EV strategy at Disneyland, see the Enchanted Insider EV Charging Guide. The Toy Story Lot is the better EV option if you are arriving specifically for the 6pm mix-in and need charging — it has more available spots later in the day than the parking structures.
Star Wars Nite Costume Guidelines
Costumes are encouraged and widely worn at Star Wars Nite. The dress code here is meaningfully more permissive than regular park hours. The rules that apply:
Adult costumes must not include full-face masks. Helmets are permitted if they do not cover the full face. Costumes must not drag on the ground or create a trip hazard. Prop weapons must not look realistic and must not be metal. Lightsabers are permitted and extremely common — this is not the event to leave yours at home if you have one. Bringing a lightsaber to Star Wars Nite and joining the Fleet of Fandom showcase on Main Street is exactly the kind of moment this event was designed to produce.
Check the official Disneyland costume guidelines before your visit for the full current policy.

FAQ
The official Star Wars Nite event runs from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM. However, your event ticket includes access to Disneyland Park starting at 6:00 PM for a three-hour mix-in period. Arriving at 6pm and using that window for dinner, novelty items, and rides is the recommended strategy before the event officially begins at 9pm.
The confirmed 2026 character lineup includes The Mandalorian and Grogu, Boba Fett, Emperor Palpatine, Fennec Shand, Queen Amidala, R2-D2, C-3PO, Hera and Chopper, Jawas, and Ewoks. Queen Amidala and The Mandalorian and Grogu generate the longest queues and should be prioritized in the first 30 minutes of the event.
The Jabba’s Sail Barge Bucket is a limited novelty item available specifically starting May 4, 2026. It is available at Popcorn near Star Trader, Alien Pizza Planet, Kat Saka’s Kettle, Galaxy’s Edge Beverage Carts, and through Mobile Order via Galactic Grill’s Seasonal Novelty Release on May 4th, 5th, and 6th. Limited to two per person with no discounts. Demand is high — make it your first stop when you enter at 6pm on May 4th.
Yes. Mobile ordering through the Disneyland app is available at Docking Bay 7, Ronto Roasters, Galactic Grill, and other Galaxy’s Edge and park locations during both the mix-in period and the official event. The recommended strategy is to place mobile orders for exclusive event food at 8:00 PM for 8:30 to 9:00 PM pickup, before the post-9pm order surge hits.
No. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is not available during Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite. Individual Lightning Lane purchases are also not available during the event. The after-hours format produces significantly shorter ride waits than regular park hours, and Rise of the Resistance typically runs under 20 minutes during the later event hours without any Lightning Lane product needed.
